Ichi Maru Kyuu Biru

Also known as Shibuya 109 or the 109 building is a famous department store in Shibuya’s fashion and club district. Built in 1979 by the Tokyu Group the name is a pun on the company name Tou Kyuu which sounds like 10-9 in Japanese. Specializing in high end fashion and small boutiques selling original clothing it helped launch the gyaru culture in the 1990′s. As a landmark it can be commonly seen in advertisments and movies.
