Interview with April Garcia

April Garcia is a fast rising star in the modeling scene from Seattle Washington. Born in the Philippines she moved to San Diego, California when she was 11 and California is where heart has been ever since. ♥  April moved to Washington State during her High School Senior year. At first she didn’t like the northwest until she met some good hearted people and began her modeling Career. She is presently the Operations Manager/Clothing/Spokesmodel for Stylist Entertainment LLC. -video production and streaming services in Seattle.

 
April, it is a pleasure to meet you. You were born in the Philippines but moved to the US when you were eleven. Do you remember what you thought about the US when you first arrived?

It was beautiful, I arrived at night time and saw the city lights while a john legend song was playing in the car ^.^ It was perfect.

What prompted your move to Washington State?

My Step Father was in the military and was stationed here.

When you were young what were your interests and what had you wanted to be when you were older? Was modeling something you had always wanted to do?

When I was little I wanted to be a nurse just like my mother, but it didn’t happen haha. Modeling was in every little girls dream

Do you remember what you thought on your first photoshoot? Were you nervous?

I wasn’t nervous I was just not as advanced as I am now. I pretty much copy what I saw on magazines when I first started.

What are some of the styles of modeling that you enjoy?

Glamour photoshoots aref my favorites.

Can you remember a particular photoshoot that may have been a little difficult?

Nothing very difficult, I would say the cold weather makes it difficult haha.

Who are some people who you admire or influence you?

My very first role model in modeling is Miss Jeri Lee because I just see her everywhere online and thought she was beautiful and influenced me to try it. Thankfully I get to work with her as well

How important is it for you to collaborate with the photographer during a shoot?

It’s very important in a way I need to connect with my photographers and have good communication. I love learning different photographer;s techniques on photoshoots.

Can you choose one image that is your favorite?

My Superman photoshoot are some of my favorite images.

Tell us a little about your role with Stylist Entertainment LLC.

I’m an operation manager and model for a video filming company name Stylist and I love it. I network, manage the clothing line, planning with my team for future events, hiring models, etc.

What is the modeling industry like in the Northwest?

Pretty.. slow haha. You have to really get out there to get noticed!

What areas would you like to branch out into in the future?

California, New York, & Miami <3

What advice would you give to someone just starting out in the industry?

Invest in yourself, network, and go after your dreams only if you see potential in yourself with 100% dedication.
