NAME,  Delina Marie
HOMETOWN, San Diego, California
NATIONALITY, African American, Portuguese, Cape Verden , Native American
AGE 23
Measurements 36-30-38

Can you tell us a little about where you grew up and what you were like as a child?

I grew up in several different cities and states as a military child, but always knew San Diego felt most like home. As a child I was very rambunctious, loved to play basketball, climb trees jump on trampolines and be outdoors exploring.

Was modeling something you always wanted to do when you were younger?

I initially wanted to get into acting and dancing, so I did talent shows, dance teams and took drama in high school. Later on I became more fascinated with photography and modeling, so I decided to work towards that.

What types of modeling styles do you enjoy doing the most?

I really enjoy black and white photos of glamour work. One of my favorites is couture modeling, the clothes are amazing, and out of the box, the movements and shapes are so eye-catching. I personally enjoy doing commercial, and fashion spreads.

Are there any models, photographers that you admire.or inspire you?

I admire victoria secret model Miranda Kerr and Adriana Lima. Including actresses/models Scarlet Johanson, Zoe saldana, and Oliva munn.

What is it you enjoy about modeling?

I enjoy that I get to try different looks that I wouldn’t normally try day to day being just delina. I get to feel carefree, let my mind wonder into my alter ego while trying out different poses, expressions and themes.

What do you think is your best asset and your worst?

I think my best asset are my eyes and my worst is my height, almost limits me to things I’d like to do or type of clothing to wear.

Were there any tips you received that made an impression on what you needed to do to become successful?

Patience and tolerance is the key, there’s only so much we can control and some days are longer than others with unexpected faults, but the finished product is the focus. Stay professional; you’re not only representing yourself but also the brand, team or company as well.

Is there anything that you haven’t accomplished that you would like to?

I would love to go on tour as a backup dancer with a top selling r&b or pop music artist.

Are you working on any projects lately?

Yes I work managing a R&B/Pop singer named L-Jay. To find out more about him and his music go to www.ljayalltheway.com

What are the things you love to do when you’re not “at work”?

I love to play basketball, indulge myself in a good book, magazine or movie and sleep

What is your most prized possession?

Pictures of my godson Keegan.

If you could come back after death, what would you be?

I would be a bird, so I could travel around visually experiencing different parts of the world.

Any advice for “New Faces”?

Find what works for your body and what you are comfortable with. Don’t rush into anything, find out all the details and do your homework. Always have fun and stay humble, nothing happens overnight but motivation and hard work brings progress.

Where can we find out more about you?
