Interview with Zalia
Zalia is the alter ego of Venessa Gentile. Venessa has had a passion for modeling since she was a child. Always an outgoing and friendly person she has always loved being in front of the camera and can shoot for hours on end without getting tired.
Above all, she has great respect for the abilities of the people she works with – this includes not only the photographers but the MUA, hair and wardrobe talent who make a shoot come out with great results. This respect must be in all directions – and this includes respect for her abilities. She is always on time, has great energy and put 150% into each shoot. She expects, in return, polite, open and timely communication about the planning and intent of each shoot. She also appreciates politeness and consideration during a shoot.
Zalia, it is a pleasure to meet you. You have said you have had a passion for modeling since you were young. What is it that you enjoyed about it? Was it dressing up and make-up? Performing in front of the camera? How did you get started?
It is all of the above that you mentioned
I actually got started by posing for limos and after that I took it further.
How did you get your first modeling assignment? What was it like? Were you nervous?
I got my first Modeling Assignment from my ModelMayhem Account. Not I was not nervous at all.
Your portfolio consists of a wide variety of different types and styles of modeling. From runway to erotic, glamour to edgy/dark images. What types of modeling do you prefer?
I love doing all of them but I really enjoy doing the glamour and commercial work and I also love doing the dark and edgy shoots to cause I am very good at turning myself into a human pretzel. Don’t get me wrong I love doing runway also and would love more experience in that category but it sucks cause I am not tall enough.
This range of different styles is interesting because you can appear as the wholesome, girl next door type to the bad girl. When approached for a photo shoot what criteria do you take into consideration before accepting?
I like to hear all the info on what’s going to be going on and what concept they are doing and what they are looking for.
Has there ever been a modeling assignment that has been particularly difficult?
No not at all I have been very lucky in that category.
How closely do you work with the photographers, MUA and stylists?
I would say pretty close cause its important to have a good connection with everyone during a shoot and a good and positive attitude and to be professional it makes the shoot go that much better
Were there any tips you received that made an impression on what you needed to do to become successful?
Ya I did get helpful tips on how to be successful and what you should watch out for.
Is there anything that you haven’t accomplished that you would like to?
Yes there is I would love to see my face on huge billboards to be published in magazines and for everyone to know my name.
Are you working on any projects lately that you can share with us?
Right now I do have a few shoots coming up but you r going to have to wait and see for those. Also I want to get a calendar going also some posters and photo signings.
What are the things you love to do when you’re not “at work”?
I am a go with the flow kind of girl I love being with friends and hanging out I enjoy dancing and working out so pretty laid back
What would you be if you could pick a new career?
I would for sure become a prosecutor just because I had followed the Casey Anthony trial for 3 years and I when I heard the verdict omg I was beyond mad. I had also learned a lot while following that case.
