Interview with Cherry Chen

Cherry Chen is a model based in Taiwan who has an interest in female masking, latex and cosplay. She works hard on her figure and on her image and has become a celebrity in her native Taiwan. She is in demand by photographers and works closely with her sponsor, Catfish Latex. To her her dressing up is about beauty and the quality of her photos.

Cherry, it is a pleasure to meet you. How did you first become interested in female masks, kigurumi and latex?

Maybe it was just for fun but when I first started dressing up to become the girl of my dreams, I was truly ecstatic. The natural instinct of a female is beauty care. A female would intentionally make up herself to please her beloved. This is the way I do it to make myself most attractive.

Do you do it to please others or because of how it makes you feel?

Most people like good things, including me. Female mask is one of the tools I use when I dress up because I do not like make-up. The other reason is because applying make-up takes time and practice. To me it seems like busy work. With female masks I can quickly have a better look with many different styles of clothing. Maybe some people do not agree with this view/ Sometimes they say to me, “Even with makeup you are beautiful, why use masks?”

Is it also a sexual feeling for you. Does it make you feel free? Uninhibited?

Not a feeling, but I agree that when people see me dressed that some have this feeling. Through the eyes of the mask, you see things very differently. It  is very interesting to me and I was immediately attracted to it.

In addition, I want to talk about the process of taking photos and the photographer. Because dress-up can be very sexually tempting a lot of people want to help me take my photos. The content of the photos is not all about sex and I do not want to risk any sexual incidents during my photo shoots. The photographers must be in control of their sexual-impulses and that is the requirement for the photographer.

Others feel that way but you do not? How do you feel?

Dress up like this in the real world s usually only for models to try. After I dress up I feel beautiful. Different dress ups can have different feelings, It is like role play and I love to play different characters.

Every time I have a photo shoot it is like a themed party. I now devote my life to what I do and I take many pictures to preserve the wonderful memories.

I also use a mask because it helps to avoid the problems of life and it saved me from being embarrassed.

In general, many people associate latex with S&M. Is that something you think of when dressing up?

It is usually just for the photo shoots but I like to pretend I am a mistress sometimes. The things I dress in are similar to S&M dress, the latex-suits especially. I can accept mild S&M circumstances like light bondage, spanking, etc. Really more flirting with slave (role-play) can make photographs that are very vivid, clear and realistic looking.

What do you like to do outside of your work and your modeling?

I like sports, such as jogging. It helps my body curves to stay perfect. I keep my body slim for my photos because I think that outfits just look better on a slim body.

In the beginning I was taking pictures and putting them on the web and I gained the more and more fans. Because I gathered such a large following I began to work with photographers and we would discuss theme and style, get props together and dress up and do the photo shoot.

 
 What are some of your favorite outfits?

I like latex suits and “catfish-latex” suits (www.latexcatfish.com) especially. I wear them often when taking pictures and films.  All beautiful clothing in the visual sense is very attractive.
