Interview with DTX by Ann Zu

When did you became interested in music?

Each member became interested in music at different times of their lives but the important thing is that music unites DTX and our friendship will last until the end of time.

Describe your sound in your own words.

Dtx is trying to create an unique sound and trying to be an innovative force in the music scene but most importantly, we seek originality and sound unlike any other existing group and to please the general public.

How did your band form?

Dtx was created as a side project of the brothers Tanamachi. After the breakup of their prior group they invited two friends, Yasu and Edgar, to join them.

What are your musical influences?

Dtx has many musical influences but to name a few: One Ok Rock, Crossfaith and Linkin Park.

Tell us a bit about the story behind the songs. How do you write them?

We are inspired by personal experiences, every song has a story, and we also write songs that inspire the listening public to change their mentality and see things in a different way so that all people have a more positive mindset to change the world in which we live.

Why DTX? How did you choose the name of your band?

DTX (DETOX ) English meaning detoxify

We know we can not change the world but we can detoxify and make people feel pure emotions.

What has been the transition from pre-DTX your project?

Personally we are very happy because the people who heard the previous project says that this group sounds better in every way .. it speaks about our musical evolution and we are very happy!

His new project has a touch of electronic sounds, how did this happen?

The electronic sounds are to give something fresh to the project, recently the music industry has changed, so we must be at the forefront.

“Our Time Is Now”, “Too late” or “My World,” What is your favorite?

All are favorites because they all put the same effort, but if we were to mention one it would be “Our Time is Now.”

What is the craziest thing you have seen from their fans when you’re on stage?

We have released details of lingerie hahaha

From what I have understood you produce your own music. Is it difficult?

All production is difficult but if you put heart all goes well!

If you could make the production of the album by another artist, who would it be?

A very difficult question, I believe that each of the members would have their own artist but I can mention that Keiki likes Glay, Yasu with One Ok Rock, Kenji with Abingdon Boys School and Edgar with Dream Theater.

What is your musical guilty pleasure?

We are interested in ROCK

What do you recommend listening to?

We recommend listening to DTX obviously! Hahaha but we recommend the influences of DTX, ONE OK ROCK, Crossfaith, Linkin Park and Abingdon Boys School.

What follows now for DTX?

DTX is hard at work on the first album that will be named “My World”, to be on sale in early 2013. It will be an amazing production directed to all the public, then a music video and the the presentation of the album.
