Interview with Emily Wa

Emily, please tell us a little about youself

My name is Emily Wa and I am originally from Bangkok,Thailand. I am 27 years old. I am a professional male to female transformation specialist and I do makeup for living and I have my own online shopping site for male to female called Emily-wa.com

How did you start dressing as a woman?

I have been always very interested in the feminine side of females and about two years ago I started to do makeup and one day I decided to try and transform myself into a lady, That was the first time I saw Emily Wa come out from inside  me, It is a great moment and I immediately saw myself as a different person.

What is your favorite part of dressing up from male to female ?

My favorite part of changing myself into female is the makeup because I really enjoy it. I love changing myself into different looks for myself, different type of eye makeup, hair and costumes too. Changing myself amd entering into the female world is something amazing to me!

How did you get your name from ?

My Female name is Emily Wa. When I started my transformation my friends told me I should find a name for myself but it took me awhile to decide on the proper name. One day I was looking on the internet and I found few names I liked but when I saw Emily I really like the meaning of it. Wa comes from my boy name, I would like to have my boy side boy in my name as well so that us why I used both a female and male name.

What made you decide to start making Youtube Videos ?

About two years ago I was dressing and I thought it would be fun to see what people thought of me as Emily Wa so I decided to post my first video on Youtube. People were very nice and kind also gave me a very warm welcome to the Youtube world so after that I made more Youtube videos about my life as Emily Wa, transgender, crossdressing and also about makeup tips.

How did your family think of you as EmilyWa ?

I am very lucky because I got very good support and understanding from my family. My mom is always there when I need her!  It’s a little hard at first but after having conversations with her she understood that this is what I am and that it makes me happy.

Please tell us more about your makeup work !

I do all kind of makeup looks from very simple to very drama makeup looks/ For me makeup is an art of the human face it can show your skill and creativity, I have done over 70 looks for year 2012. In the past I was planning to do what I learned in University, I was a management student, but I didn’t find I liked doing it as a transgender person. I wanted to do something that more matched my personality and to continue to be able to dress up as a female. Becoming a makeup artist was my second plan. I am working on it to be famous.

What do you like the most from being male to female?

Wow, I do enjoy every moment of it and I am very lucky that I have gotten so many opportunities from the cross-dressing and transgender communities to do makeup and modeling. It is like a different world to me and being a female I can really be myself and be beautiful and tell others they can do the same thing.
