An online Hong Kong and England’s fashion snapshot platform.

Someone asked me where i got this idea from, to be honest, i got inspiration from other fashion snapshot website in Hong Kong.

That website is quite famous in Hong Kong. I know it’s not easy to be famous like that. But what make me keep going is because of WATCH-OUT’s supporters and my partner. Also those oversea snaps. I believe people may have interest to take a look of people from different countries how to dress up and what’s their fashion culture. Even though they don’t have time to travel, they also can know more about people from different areas. I want to make them feel like they have been to that place and have fun there after they saw WATCH-OUT’s snaps. Besides, because of my major in university is styling and photography. That’s why I want to make use of the page and practice more my photography skills in my leisure time.

For the concept, I want to do it like “Crossover”, not just the snaps in London. I want someone in Hong Kong who can manage this page with me. At the beginning, I asked my friends on Facebook and see who is interested in this job. At that time I didn’t expect too much because it’s a NO-PAY job. Luckily, quite a lot of my friends told me they are happy to do that. I need someone who love fashion and have some basic skills of photography. Also don’t be shy when they speak to others and be polite. And the most important requirement is he or she must be a patient person. I totally understand it takes so much time to wait for some stylish people on street. Sometime even you spend the whole day on a place but there’s no one suitable for snaps. That’s why patient is a MUST! I don’t want to hear he or she tell me they feel tired or bored about this job afterward. I need someone who can go with me till the end!

Actually i got a person in my mind already. I haven’t meet this guy face to face before and I’m not sure will he say yes about this job. But i believe he can do it well. He’s my partner, Do B. He studied fashion design and fashion business in Hong Kong. I can see he has passion on fashion from his Facebook and his blog. I believe he’s the best choice.

We both got so much ideas about WATCH-OUT. But firstly I have to explain why we chose “WATCH-OUT” to be our page name. Me and Do B both wants a name which is special and easy to remember. We don’t want some complicated name or some words that hard for people to spell and read. “WATCH-OUT”, a meaning like warning people to be careful. We want to tell people “WATCH-OUT! DON’T MISSED OUR SNAPS”. And for the logo, because I’m not really good at graphic design so I asked Do B to design it. We chose black, white and yellow for the main colours. When you look at our logo, you can see there’s a camera with the hanger on top. Because fashion Snaps is about clothing and photography so we combine these two items together and got this final design.

After we established our page, mainly our snaps are from London and Hong Kong. But after few month.s, Do B went to Korea for traveling so I hope he can take some snaps from there. I want to enlarge the range of the snaps on our page. Not just London and Hong Kong. And now, Do B is having his working holiday in Australia and he also got some really cool snaps from there!

Honestly it’s not easy to manage a fashion snaps website. We have to consider a lots. Sometime when we go out and take snaps, some people may not happy to let you take photos of them even they got some really stylish style. Reject, reject and reject is the main challenge we have to face. But we always know reject doesn’t mean failure. We never try to give up. We still keep going till this moment. Time is also the serious problem between me and Do B. Because I’m staying in London and he’s in Hong Kong. The time zone differences really annoying us a lots. So every time when we both have time to have a meeting on Skype together, we will try our best to discuss as much as we can. Unfortunately I’m really busy on my course work in these few months and don’t have spare time to take any snaps. So our page is not really activated. But I also hope you can spare few minutes and take a look of WATCH-OUT. Every little things on it is really not easy to finish. Maybe not everyone will love it but we really need your support.
